Fudge for Soldiers Promotion Sends A Bit of Home to TroopsPRESS RELEASE -- For Immediate Release
FUDGE FOR SOLDIERS PROMOTION SENDS A BIT OF HOME TO TROOPS
Paso Robles, CA (November 12, 2009) - "Buy fudge and soldiers get some too!" That is the new promotion at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory in Paso Robles. During November, the store is keeping track of all the fudge sold in any flavor. In December, the staff will make and send a matching amount to soldiers serving outside the country as a holiday gift from home.
"As we approach the holiday season, we think of those serving far from home. We want to make sure they have a little something special to remind them of home.", said John Button, owner of the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory store in Paso Robles.
The store, known for premium chocolates, fudges, caramel apples and gifts all hand-made the old fashioned way with a copper kettle and marble candy table, is extra busy in November and December making treats for holiday gifts and filling special orders. Now they will have one more extra special order to make and ship.
"All of us in the store want to contribute directly, as well as offer our customers a convenient way to give our soldiers some treats from home for the holidays too.", Button added.
"We started this project last year and were surprised by the community's support.", commented Patricia Parham, store manager. "In all we sent 155 pounds of fudge to the soldiers last year. It was great! We really want to do it again. Now, with so many more soldiers in the Middle East, we'd like to send even more."
The store, at 1106 Pine St. in Paso Robles, is open Sun 12 pm to 10 pm and Mon-Sat from 10 am to 10 pm and can be reached at 805.226.7598 or email@example.com.

More reasons chocolate is good for youThe Dec 2 NBC Today Show (read at: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28001153/), included a summary of even more reasons recent research is showing chocolate has some great benefits.
We know that dark chocolate cocoa powder has up to three times the antioxidants found in green tea, plus twice the antioxidants in red wine; that’s good for your heart. And studies have shown that dark chocolate’s polyphenols affect serotonin levels in the brain; that’ll boost your mood. But this year dark chocolate has gained even more favor in medical circles. In one study, heart-transplant patients showed a decreased risk of clogged arteries two hours after consuming 40 grams of dark chocolate. In another, researchers from the University of Illinois found that subjects who ate a 22 gram dark chocolate bar daily for two months lowered their blood pressure and cholesterol levels. And investigation is underway to see if dark chocolate can be used to decrease PMS symptoms. Sweet news for us all.
